Given design inputs, Brian excels at conceiving and developing novel product designs that fully consider the intellectual property landscape and competitor product portfolios. Brian is also proficient at drafting and prosecuting patents, technology assessment, searching and evaluating the prior art, managing corporate US and OUS patent and trademark portfolios, directing and evaluating work product by outside IP counsel and internal IP staff, and successfully executing the related budgets.
As corporate director of intellectual property, design engineer including CAD, and registered patent agent, Brian contributed to the rapid growth of Pioneer Surgical Technology. He directed IP legal teams and contributed to strategies that successfully defended the company against assaults from competitors and to stop misuse of company IP. Brian’s design contributions also accelerated growth of Balanced Body, a leading manufacturer of Pilates exercise machines. Earlier work as a licensed physical therapist and healthcare leader helped establish the Sparrow Health Pavilion, a well-known integrated medical, research and fitness complex.About patents
